For this prompt, we continue with our one-word/phrase drabble roots:
Cheer
Is someone cheering? Or in need of cheering up? Or perhaps of good cheer? Tell us all about it. Labyfic-style, of course.
Given our entries from recent months, let's continue with the suggested limit for this month of 500 words. Though remember that shorter pieces are most definitely welcome!
Your entry should take the following format, posted as a comment on this entry:
Word count: # of words
Drabble: $your_beautiful_drabble
I'll aim to get the next drabble challenge out on the first Monday of next month (January 2).
I'm also very happy to take suggestions if something in particular strikes your fancy -- comment on this post or PM me with your suggestions. You can see our current collected suggestions here.
Remember: Feedback is LOVE. So do reply to your fellow labyficcers' drabbles if so inclined. (Though be careful of concrit unless specifically okayed by the author beforehand.)

“Oh my.” Chairs. Of all shapes and sizes. Plush lounging ones and small wooden antique ones and ones for standing on to reach things and ones for sitting around a table chatting amiably over hot cocoa and…well, the mind boggled at how they all fit into the throne room. That was Labyrinth physics for you, I suppose. My lips twitched as I saw the sign. “I think there may have been a slight misinterpretation of our holiday greeting.”
There was a quiet intake of breath as Jareth caught the same clue. “`Cheer’ wasn’t a familiar enough term, eh?”
I shrugged. “It does sound an awful lot like `chair’ with the right accent.”
We stared together at the large hand-lettered sign swinging above the morass: “BE UV GUD CHER”.
“Well,” mused Jareth after a moment, “at least we’ll have plenty of seating for the New Year’s festivities.”
I smiled. “I thought I was the designated Finder of Silver Linings.”
“A marriage is a partnership, no? I thought I’d take my turn.”
“So generous.”
“Just one of my specialties.”
“Do tell.”
“I’d rather show.”
“Brilliant. At the kids’ naptime?”
“As you wish.”
“It would improve my cheer immeasurably.”
“Then it’s most definitely my pleasure. On a chair of your choosing.”
“I do so love you.”
His smile was a gorgeous thing full of sharp promises and velvet shadows. “And I you, Sarah mine.”
