labyfic / Pre-post for challenge #37: Isolation

Hello everyone! I’m about to post our first longer challenge in 18 months and I just wanted to get out of the way that yes, I am alive and well, and I hope everyone else is.

I mean this very literally, because since my last post on this site, my mother and both of my remaining grandparents have died, as well as SIX pets. I also lost my job, and my extended family all estranged from each other over my grandmother’s care and then her will. Then Australia was on fire, and before we’d even taken a breath, COVID happened, so … it’s been a lot.

I hope everyone is ok over this very stressful period. If anyone wants a space to vent or unload or just share hope and love, I’m declaring the comment section on this post a safe space without judgement. Also I can’t wait to see everyone’s entries! I have had horrible writer’s block over my manuscript (I don’t blame myself at all, given what’s been happening) so I’m planning to do what always helps when I have that; write some fanfiction!
