Vast
Sarah had no idea where she was. When she reached out to the Labyrinth she felt a distance, so she assumed she was no longer in the Goblin Kingdom, but that’s where her guesswork ended.
She was standing on a narrow beach that she suspected only existed at low tide. It stretched out as far as she could see and the water similarly vanished over the horizon. The colour was dark enough from her low vantage that she shuddered at the thought of the drop off so close to shore. Adding to the surreal landscape was a huge wall of sand dune. The scale of her surroundings made her feel insignificantly tiny.
“Where are we?” Sarah glanced at Jareth. He had his eyes closed and his face raised to the sun, the wind softly ruffled through his hair.
“This is where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean.” Jareth pulled Sarah against his body and laced his fingers over her stomach.
Sarah relaxed into the embrace. “It’s beautiful, if overwhelming.” Jareth hummed his agreement as he nuzzled into her neck. “What’s with the llama?”
“It’s not a llama.” Jareth continued kissing his way along her shoulder.
Sarah side eyed the creature. It looked like a llama, but less pointy, like someone had turned it into a life sized toy. “Oh, it’s an alpaca.” She was fairly certain neither animal was native to the area.
The alpaca was standing in the shade of a small marquee, happily munching its way through a bucket of feed. A dopplered shriek of delight, followed by the soft slaps of body parts hitting sand sounded beyond the shelter. A goblin rolled to a stop as it hit the hind legs of the alpaca. Without interrupting its lunch, the alpaca kicked the goblin, launching it up the dune again.
The reason they were on the beach in the first place was because this was the goblin’s prize that had been won at their recent festival. Sarah had to admit that her inner child was eyeing off the dune and wondering what it would be like to ride down it on a sled. Her adult side was less keen on walking to the top to indulge in that ride. However, the option of ascending the slope by alpaca power wasn’t on her list of things to try, but it seemed to delight the goblin.
“Wouldn’t a ski lift be more efficient?” Sarah briefly wondered if the flapping thump was caused by the goblin’s ears or arms.
Jareth worked Sarah’s shirt loose and smoothed his hands up the skin of her abdomen. “The sand is surprisingly fast at disabling the mechanism and the goblin’s find the conveyance a tad too slow and they start eating it.” Sarah shivered as his lips ghosted her ear. “We have until our borrowed alpaca finishes lunch. Then I shall return everyone to our respective homes. Now will you do me the honour of enjoying our brief respite in the sun, my love.”

Steps of a Giantess
For a person so small, Jareth thought, the girl left a suspiciously big footprint. One would think she was as affected by him, but humans have the stubborn quality of forgetting dreams, a luxury – or a curse – gifted to few, and certainly not Jareth.
The injury to the Labyrinth was not substantial, if a bit dizzying for its already dizzy residents. The Goblin City would recover – as it did every time the Goblins decided a celebration was in order and destroyed half the town.
No.
The largeness, the scope of Sarah Williams pushed him down. For all that she breezed over the bog and weaseled out from the oubliette, Sarah was heavy on his mind. Pushed insistently at his chest until breath was hard to come by. There was no care in her crushing his games (him?), no mind for the destruction left in her wake.
A giantess, Jareth pondered, has no mind for the things below her feet.
